Contextual Safeguarding Training

This training course provides professionals with the knowledge and skills to apply a contextual safeguarding approach when protecting children and young people from harm beyond the home. Participants will explore how peer groups, schools, communities, and online environments can influence a child’s safety and vulnerability to risks such as exploitation, gang involvement, and serious youth violence. The course covers risk assessment, multi-agency collaboration, and practical strategies for identifying and addressing extra-familial harm. Through case studies and interactive discussions, learners will develop the confidence to implement safeguarding interventions that consider the wider social contexts affecting young people’s lives.
